Where do I see results for experiments started from Storyblok?

Asked by Viktor Hansen on

Just launched my first test through the Optimize app in Storyblok. The setup went fine but now I am unsure where the results actually live. Do I need to wire GA4 or another analytics tool to measure the outcome, or is there a dashboard on the Croct side?

Also curious how deep the drill-down goes. For this test I would like to check whether mobile behaves differently from desktop, since the variant changes the hero layout quite a bit

No GA4 wiring needed. Results live in the built-in dashboards on the Croct side, with the statistics computed there too. The engine is Bayesian, so you get a probability-to-be-best style readout per variant rather than p-values, and the analytics are unsampled, it counts 100% of the data rather than extrapolating from a sample.

Your mobile vs desktop question is covered by the drill-down: you can break results down by device, by audience, by time window, and by custom events. So checking whether the hero variant only wins on desktop is a couple of clicks, no extra instrumentation.

Worth knowing for context since you came in through Storyblok: this is one of the concrete differences from Storyblok's native Experiments, which rely on custom code and external analytics for measurement. With the Optimize app the statistical engine is part of the package, which is why there was no "connect your analytics" step in your setup.

You can still export data to GA4 or similar later if your team wants experiment context inside their existing funnels, but it is optional, not required for reading results.
