How many Croct slots do I need for a homepage with several personalized blocks?
Scoping a Storyblok homepage where three blocks would be personalized: the hero, a promo strip, and a testimonials block. Before I commit I want to understand how blocks map to slots and how that lines up with plan limits, so I can size this correctly.
Concretely: is it one slot per personalized block, and how does that count against a plan's slot allowance? Trying to avoid a surprise when I pick a tier.

A slot is a specific placeholder where a component renders, so each block you want to personalize maps to its own slot. Your hero, promo strip, and testimonials would be three slots. Blocks you leave alone are not slots and keep serving their Storyblok content untouched, so you only count what you actually wire up.
On allowances, content slots are counted per plan: Free gives 3, Growth 20, and Scale is custom. A three-block homepage fits comfortably even on the free tier. The mechanics of adding a slot are in linking a Storyblok block to a slot.
To pre-empt the follow-up question, because everyone asks it next: variants do not each consume a slot. One slot serves all of its variants through experiences, so testing four hero versions is still one slot, not four. You are budgeting placeholders, not variations. That is the part I had wrong, I assumed variants ate into the count. Three slots it is. Appreciate both answers.
