Will my content team need training to manage personalized Sanity content?
I run a small editorial team on Sanity and I am weighing up adding personalization. My worry is less about the tech and more about my people. If this means a steep learning curve and yet another tool for everyone to master I have to plan for that.
So the honest question is how much ramp-up do my editors realistically face once we turn this on. Are they learning a whole new system or is it closer to what they already do.

Way less than you are picturing. Our editors picked it up in an afternoon, they already knew the Sanity components so mapping the slots was the only new part, and the devs did that bit anyway.
Day to day your editors keep working with the same Sanity components they use now. When they do touch personalization it is the same three steps every time: define the audience, specify the content, preview and publish. It is a pattern, not a platform, so it does not really feel like a new tool.
The thing that took the fear out for our team was that the existing content stays as the default fallback. There is no risky migration to learn and nothing gets moved out of Sanity, so if an editor does nothing at all the site renders exactly as it does today. Once the components are mapped, the marketers can launch experiences without pulling in a developer, which is where the time actually saves.
