Is the Vercel Marketplace integration enough to wire env vars, or do I still set them by hand?
setting up a fresh Next project on Vercel and I saw the Croct listing in the Vercel Marketplace. Before I go clicking, does the one-click integration actually provision the environment variables for me, or do I still have to add them manually afterwards?
Trying to avoid the situation where it half-configures things and I spend an hour wondering why nothing resolves.

the one-click integration from the Vercel Marketplace does set the env vars for you, you do not add them by hand. it wires up NEXT_PUBLIC_CROCT_APP_ID and CROCT_API_KEY into the project.
the one thing the marketplace flow will not catch for you is the key permission, iirc the API key has to have the "Issue user tokens" permission or server-side auth fails even though the var is present, see the issue-user-tokens permission thread. that is the classic "it is set but nothing works" trap. after it is connected, check the dashboard Integration page for the green "Received traffic in the past 24 hours" indicator to confirm it is actually flowing. one more thing for later, add your Vercel preview URLs to trusted origins or previews will not resolve, more in this preview deployments thread.
that was exactly it. vars were there from the marketplace but the key was missing "Issue user tokens", added the permission and traffic showed up green. thanks
