# Croct pricing

Croct is priced per monthly active user (MAU), the number of unique people who interact with
your website in a month. Every plan includes personalization, A/B testing, server-side rendering
and unsampled analytics. What the plan decides is your volume and your quotas, not which
features you get.

## Plans

Annual plans are billed once a year and shown here as the equivalent monthly amount. Past
50,000 MAU, Growth charges the extra volume as you go, or Scale sets a quota that fits.

Forever-free needs no credit card. Growth is self-serve and priced by volume tier. Scale is for
teams that need custom quotas, event-based segmentation, scheduled publishing or premium
support.

## Billing

Annual plans are billed once a year and work out about two months cheaper than paying monthly.
Payment is by credit card, and sales can arrange other methods. You can upgrade or downgrade
whenever you like, though moving from annual to monthly may be limited, because annual pricing
reflects the longer commitment.

Go over your MAU quota and you have three options. Upgrade the plan, turn on pay-as-you-go to
cover the extra users, or do nothing. If you do nothing, Croct stops serving personalization,
default content, A/B test variants and event tracking until you adjust the plan or it renews
next month. The admin panel keeps working the whole time.

Known bots and crawlers do not count toward the MAU limit on paid plans, because bot filtering
leaves that traffic out. Turn bot filtering off and they count as users.

## Getting started

Setup is one command, `npx croct@latest init`, which installs the SDK, wires the provider
and generates TypeScript types for every slot. Official SDKs cover Next.js, React, Vue,
Nuxt, Astro, Remix, Svelte, Gatsby, JavaScript, PHP, Laravel and Shopify Hydrogen. Most
teams are live the same day, and the forever-free plan needs no credit card.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is there a free plan?

The forever-free plan covers 10,000 monthly active users with 3 content slots and 1
experience or experiment, and needs no credit card. Growth starts at $100 per month billed
annually for 20,000 monthly active users. Scale is custom. See [pricing](/pricing) for the
full table.

### What counts as a monthly active user?

A unique person who interacts with your website during the month. Each plan carries an MAU
quota, and you can buy more volume as you grow.

### Do bots count toward the limit?

Not on paid plans, as long as bot filtering is on. It keeps known bots and crawlers out of your
quota, your experiences and your experiments.

### What happens if I go over my quota?

Upgrade, turn on pay-as-you-go, or let it lapse. If you let it lapse, Croct stops serving
content and tracking events until you adjust the plan or it renews next month.

### Are there limits on experiences or experiments?

Quotas vary by plan. The plan comparison lists what each one includes.

### Can I change plans later?

Yes, whenever you like. Custom plans may carry their own terms, and switching from annual to
monthly can be restricted, because annual pricing reflects the longer commitment.

### What does the free plan actually include?

Everything the platform does: personalization, A/B testing, server-side rendering and unsampled
analytics. The plan sets your volume and quotas, not your feature set.
