# Store Framework vs FastStore, does Croct behave differently on each?

Asked by thiago_vtex on 2026-08-11. Tags: vtex, faststore, events.

agency dev here. two clients on VTEX, one on classic Store Framework (VTEX IO)
and one on a newer FastStore build.

need to know before I plan the work:
- does the integration work the same on both stacks
- which events can I actually count on for audiences

dont want to promise a client something the stack cant deliver

Both stacks are supported, so you can offer it to both clients. The
difference is what it listens to under the hood.

On Store Framework (VTEX IO) it listens to VTEX store events. On FastStore it
listens to the analytics events the storefront emits. Either way the same
signals reach Croct: product views, cart views, cart modifications, checkout
starts, and order placements.

Those are the ones you build audiences and experiments on, so your targeting
logic can be identical across the two clients.

One thing worth adding for the experiment side: the order placement is not
just a tracked event, it also records a conversion (Goal Completed)
automatically. So on either stack, purchases feed straight into your
experiment goals without you wiring anything extra.

Where the two do diverge is profile enrichment, but for the event list your
audiences depend on, they line up.

that clears it up, same event set on both is exactly what I needed. thanks
