# How do I set up the Croct Optimize app in Storyblok?

I work at an agency and a client asked us to add A/B testing to their Storyblok
site. I found the Optimize app in the Storyblok app directory and it looks like
what we need, but the listing is light on the actual setup sequence.

What I'm unclear on: do I need anything set up on the Croct side before
installing the app, and what happens after the install? Is the whole thing
managed from inside Storyblok or do I bounce between two dashboards? Would love
the full sequence before I quote hours to the client

Here is the full setup sequence.

**Prerequisites**

1. A Croct account on the Scale plan.
2. A Storyblok space with at least one story.
3. The [Optimize app installed from the Storyblok app directory](https://storyblok.com/apps/external/optimize).

**Setup flow**

1. Link your Storyblok blocks to Croct slots. Your existing block content
   stays in place and serves as the default fallback.
2. Build experiences or A/B tests for those slots.
3. Monitor results.

The Optimize app runs inside Storyblok's interface, so after the initial
block-to-slot linking your client's team works from within Storyblok rather
than switching between dashboards. The Croct dashboard remains available for
deeper analytics and audience management when needed.
