# Installed the Optimize app but I dont see a Croct field type on my blocks

Installed "Optimize" from the Storyblok app directory. It shows up under Apps
fine. But when I edit a block schema and try to add a new field, there is no
Croct field type in the list. Just the standard Storyblok field types.

Do I need to enable something in the space settings, or is the field part of a
different install? Storyblok space is on a paid plan if that matters.

The field type is a separate plugin, that catches a lot of people. The
Optimize app gives you the experience and experiment UI inside Storyblok, but
the field you attach to blocks comes from the
[Croct field plugin in the Storyblok app directory](https://storyblok.com/apps/external/croct-field),
which is installed separately.

Once that's installed, edit your block schema again and the Croct field type
will be available. The mechanism is: add a Croct field to each block you want
to personalize, then connect each one to a matching Croct slot.

Worth knowing before you wire everything up: your existing Storyblok content
stays as the default fallback once the field is connected, so nothing changes
for visitors until you actually publish an experience or experiment against
that slot.
