# How do I get stakeholder sign-off on a personalized variant before it goes live?

Asked by Jenny K on 2026-10-05. Tags: workflow, preview, approval.

Before we launch a campaign, a couple of stakeholders need to approve the
variants, and screenshots never quite cut it because the whole point is that
the content changes per audience.

Is there a way to show them the real thing before it goes live? I would love to
understand how the preview and approval step works in practice, since our
process depends on getting a proper sign-off first. Thanks so much.

This is exactly what preview links are for. From the experience or experiment
editor you generate a shareable preview link, and you can regenerate it if you
ever need a fresh one. Send that to your stakeholders and they see the real
rendered variant on the actual site, not a mockup.

A couple of practical notes from running this every week. The link is valid
for 24 hours, so I generate it the day I want sign-off rather than in advance.
And the preview widget in the bottom right lets whoever is reviewing switch
the active experience, experiment, audience, variant, and locale, so they can
walk through each variant and each segment in one session.

Getting sign-off used to mean a staging deploy for us, now I just send a link
and the approvals come back the same afternoon.

This is perfect, the 24 hour tip especially. Generating it the morning of
the review makes total sense. Thank you.

One thing that trips people up: the preview only renders if the slots are
integrated and your slot versions match what the site is running, plus the
domain has to be in your trusted origins. If a reviewer gets a blank or
default page instead of the variant, that version mismatch is usually the
culprit rather than the link itself.
