# I already have Clarity installed, do I keep my tracking code or replace it?

Asked by jonas88 on 2026-10-13. Tags: clarity, setup, integration.

Clarity has been running on my site for over a year. Now I am connecting
Croct.

do I change or remove my existing Clarity snippet, or do the two just run
side by side? Want to avoid breaking my recordings.

Keep your existing Clarity setup exactly as it is. Clarity carries on
capturing replays and heatmaps the same way it does today. You do not touch
or remove the snippet.

The Croct side is a one-time no-code project connection layered on top. It
does not record anything of its own and it does not replace Clarity. All it
does is add the audience, experience, experiment, and variant dimensions to
the sessions Clarity is already recording, so you can filter by them. No
duplicate recording, no swap.

Can confirm, we run both together and nothing changed on the Clarity side
when we connected Croct. Our old recordings kept flowing, and the new
sessions just gained the variant and audience filters. There was no moment
where we had to rip out or re-add the Clarity script.
