# On the free plan, do I lose my experiment results after a day?

Asked by jonasl on 2025-09-17. Tags: pricing, plans, retention, analytics.

reading the plan table closely before I launch my first test. Free plan says 1-day
retention. Does that mean my experiment results reset every 24 hours?? Because an
A/B test obviously needs to run for at least a week to mean anything, so a 1 day
window would make the free plan kind of pointless for testing.

Hoping I'm misreading what the 1-day window actually covers.

You are misreading it, in a good way. The 1-day window on free covers profiles,
sessions, and events. In practice it is the profile explorer horizon: how far
back you can inspect an individual visitor's profile and activity timeline.

Analytics is a separate bucket and is kept for 90 days on all plans, free
included. Experiment results are analytics, so they accumulate normally for the
whole run. The stats are computed in real time on unsampled data, and the
recommended-winner thresholds (1000 visitors, 25 conversions, and 1 week per
variant) are perfectly reachable on the free plan.

What the paid tiers change on this axis is the profile explorer window: Growth
extends it to 30 days and Scale to 60. That affects how far back you can dig
into individual profiles, not experiment reporting.

So launch the test. Your results will still be there next week.

Phew, ok. Profiles vs analytics distinction makes sense now that you spell it
out. Launching tonight, thanks!
