# Hit the 1 experience limit on free, do I have to delete my running experiment?

so we have an A/B test running on our signup hero. free plan.

now I want to launch a personalization experience for returning users on a
different slot and the dashboard wont let me create it, quota reached.

do I seriously have to delete the running experiment? it still has a week or
two before it hits significance. hoping there is some workaround I am missing

No deletion needed, but on free the quota really is 1 experience OR
experiment total, they share the same pool. So you cannot run both at
once on that plan.

Your options:

1. Let the experiment finish, then archive it. Archiving (or finishing)
frees the quota and you keep the results, nothing is lost.
2. If the new experience matters more right now, pause the experiment.
While paused, visitors just see the default slot content, so nothing
breaks. But the test then takes longer to reach a conclusion, so I
   would let it run out.
3. Growth raises the quota to 15 experiences/experiments if you genuinely
need both live at the same time.

Also note slots have their own separate quota (3 on free, 20 on Growth),
so putting the new experience on a different slot is fine as long as you
have a slot free.

Doug covered the options, I just want to underline one thing. Since your
experiment needs another week or two anyway, resist the temptation to cut
it short just to free the quota.
An experiment stopped early is often worse than no experiment. The archive
step afterwards takes ten seconds and the quota frees up immediately, we do
this rotation on a free workspace all the time. Queue the new experience as
a draft now so it is ready to publish the moment the test wraps.
