# If I send Croct audiences into Clarity replays, does any PII go with it?

Asked by Yuki Tanaka on 2026-08-02. Tags: clarity, privacy, session-replay.

I just connected the new Clarity integration so I can filter replays by which
experience a visitor saw. Before I roll this out to the team, I want to be certain
about one thing: does the data flowing from Croct into Clarity carry any personal
data about the visitor?

No personal data is sent to Clarity through this integration.

The connection streams a specific, bounded set of data: the audiences the
visitor fit, and the experiences, experiments, and variants they were assigned.
In other words, it sends which segments and variations applied to the visitor,
not who the visitor is. Names, emails, and other profile fields stay in Croct and
are never part of the outbound payload.

That is exactly what makes the feature useful: you can filter recordings and
heatmaps in Clarity by an exact audience, experiment, or variant, so you see how
a specific segment actually behaved without exporting anything personal.

Setup is a one-time, no-code project link between Croct and Clarity, with no
per-page code to maintain. You can review the connection steps in the
[Clarity integration guide](https://docs.croct.com/integrations/clarity), and the
precise list of fields that leave Croct is documented under
[the data sent to analytics tools](https://docs.croct.com/reference/analytics/exported-data).
